The advanced solution in 5-Part-differential hematology. The instrument uses well established methods such as impedance and photometric measurements as well as an innovative optical measurement (laser-based scattering technology) in order to guarantee precise and accurate 24 parameter complete blood count profile including 5-part WBC differential results. The autoloader unit enables a walk-away automation of closed tube sampling, including cap-recognition and cap piercing, with a capacity of 100 vials at a throughput of 60 samples per hour.

What is the throughput of the analyzers?
Analyticon offers two hematology analyzers.
Instrument Parameters Application Field Throughput Hemolyzer® 3 20 (3-Diff) Human 60 tests per hour Hemolyzer® 5 24 (5-Diff) Human 60 tests per hour What reagents can I use for the analyzer?
Each implementation of hematology analyzers is unique. The implementation is a finely matched system of instrument, measurement technology, technical solutions, reagents and control material. These all are required to guarantee performance according to specifications. Being able to supply a fully balanced system: instrument – reagents – control material, Analyticon offers you a TQM (Total Quality Management) system for our customers.
Other reagent systems cannot be exactly matched to any instrument and their respective requirements. Calibration will not always help – chemical incompatibilities also add to uncertain results. Analyticon reagents will definitely provide performance according to specifications.Do I get training on using the instrument?
You definitely will! Analyticon’s business model is to extensivley train the service staff of our distributors. This helps resolving local issues, as language cannot be an obstacle! We regularly invite service personnel to the Analyticon plant in Germany and conduct 2-3 days long specific trainings focusing on the needs of our customers.
From hematology basics through instrument operation, installation, user training, to end with maintenance – we cover everything! In special cases, we also offer local service and sales trainings for distributor technical and sales staff – Analyticon engineers travel and deliver the necessary knowledge. Trainees become certified on instrument support. These training sessions guarantee that each time a new instrument is placed at an end user, the sales and technical staff will always be up to date in technical and application matters.Does it count Neutrophils?
We are convinced that “Granulocytes” is a more correct name for this population of cells as especially for samples with eosinophilia at least a part of the eosinophils will be counted in the granulocyte population. To define this population as just neutrophils is not correct. Instrument manufacturers showing results for Neutrophils confirmed that eosinophils can be counted as Neutrophils and that there is no difference between the meaning of the NEU parameter and the granulocyte (GRA) parameter of other manufacturers’ 3-part instruments. Is there some kind of reagent coding – like a reagent card or reagent ID?
The Hemolyzer® 3 instruments do not limit the user to apply other reagent systems. But other reagents can influence the measurement. Therefore Analyticon cannot give any warranty for instruments running with reagents other than the original Analyticon reagents. Using Analyticon reagents will definitely deliver operation as per the specification of each Analyticon analyzer.
The Hemolyzer® 5 instruments have a reagent lock module as for this analyzer the reagent composition is even more essential for the measurements. A chip is provided with each Hemolyzer-5-Lyser reagent.I have limited space in my lab – can I put the reagents on the floor?
All reagent containers can be put on the floor or underneath the analyzers. It is recommended to provide easy access to the reagents for exchange. For all reagents especially the diluent it is important to have ambient temperature, this might be considered if putting the reagents on a cold floor. Why should I upgrade my analyzer software?
Regularly, Analyticon issues software updates – these are initiated either by market or customer requests. With updates you receive new services and features like statistical extensions, additional languages or wider range of applicable printers. Each time a new software is issued, Analyticon informs its partners about the new features, and possibilities. If the actual feature matches the customer’s expectations, the SW upgrade definitely is a must. Can I use any kind of external printer?
The Hemolyzer® 3 has an internal printer. But several external USB connectable printers can be used as well.
For the Hemolyzer® 5 any USB connectable and WindowsXP® compatible printer can be installed.I don’t see my language listed in the specifications. Can you add it?
No problem. Please contact our support line: support@analyticon-diagnostics.com and they will guide you in the matter. All we ask for is a translation of instrument messages – and you can have the localized instrument within a short time. What maintenance is required for the analyzer?
Analyticon instruments are low maintenance analyzers. The rule of thumb is that instrument should be kept clean.
On the Hemolyzer® 3 the internal cleaning should be done after the daily routine and one specific part, the wash head, must be wiped clean once a week to remove unwanted liquids.
On the Hemolyzer® 5 the cleaning procedure is included in the shut-down program after the daily routine using an external cleaning solution. Also the shear valve should be cleaned every 1500 measurements or every second week.Which parts have to be replaced first?
There are two key components, and both can influence accuracy of the analyzers. One is a plastic part responsible for cleaning the sampling needle at the Hemolyzer® 3 – the wash head. The other part is the shear valve at the Hemolyzer® 5. If the user does not take care of this part with the above mentioned procedure, salt build-ups can damage sample quality, and measurements become faulty. Can I get bigger printouts?
The software of each instrument has built-in printout sizes or magnifications. You can select whether you want to have small printouts, or big ones which almost fill a standard sheet of paper. Can it be integrated into my existing LIS?
Yes. Analyticon issues and regularly updates communication protocol descriptions – if a new instrument is added to the portfolio, it gets listed as well. Based on this protocol, a software developer company can build the interface to the actual system. The protocol sends all data like patient information, results with ranges and flags, histograms. What is QC? Why do I need that?
QC is the abbreviation for Quality Control. The control material is used to check the performance of the system in order to get reliable results. We recommend using this feature by running one control material sample at the beginning of the daily routine. With each control material lot, the assay sheet is issued. These values must be entered and the instrument will plot measurement results in Levey-Jennings charts – giving a clear and easy record of the instrument performance. This feature allows tracing performance of the instrument and the quality control material.Does it need calibration? How do I do that?
Each instrument is factory calibrated upon leaving the production line. However, different reagents and control materials can influence readings. If a new control material is issued, we recommend running a QC sample. If results do not match, calibration should be performed. It can be done with a built-in, automated procedure: the same sample must be run on the instrument at least 3 times. The results of these samples are then used to calculate the new calibration factors. The user only has to accept these values, and the instrument is already calibrated.Do you have comparative studies with competitors’ instruments?
We have various comparison studies available. Please contact your Analyticon Sales Representative or your Customer Support Team at support@analyticon-diagnostics.com.What sample tubes can I use for blood samples?
The Hemolyzer® 3 requires open sample tubes. These can be Sarstedt tubes, BD vacutainers and many others. Each tube type has its adapter.
The Hemolyzer® 5 can only use tubes of 80 mm height and 13 mm in diameter e.g. Sarstedt tubes, vacutainers. The tubes can be used with or without pierceable cap. If the autosampler unit is used, only tubes with caps can be used. The control for Hemolyzer 5 shows a very high value for basophils, other values are correct.
Controls for the Hemolyzer 5 must be measured either in the qc menu or the sample type has to be chosen as control.
If the controls are measured as patient samples, the basophils will not be measured correctly. What controls can be used for the Hemolyzer?
Of cause, we provide controls for the Hemolyzer 3 and 5, but alternatively the following controls can be used.
For the Hemolyzer 5 the CBC-3K control from R&D Systems can be used. The target values for Abbott CELLDYN 3700 are applicable for Hemolyzer 5.
For the Hemolyer 3 we recommend the Para12Extend control from Streck. The target values for Abacus are applicable for Hemolyzer 3
